   Even without the vocal tracks, the album never sounds repetitive or monotonous, so diverse is its panorama of styles. Hopping seamlessly from genre to genre, Logic reveals encyclopedic knowledge of a number of styles from Afro-beat to dub. "Balifon Planet" blends sci-fi ambience, kung fu samples and backwards masked organ refrains into a moody.

   Zen of Logic is not, which does not make it bad by any measure. This album explores more conventional hip and trip hop grooves. DJ Logic, master he is, does this well. But what I loved about the other two albums is the odd source material Logic choose to work with, breathing new life into old forms and making classic albums/5(2).

   Zen of Logic's mostly instrumental mix reminds me of jazz's academically minded step-brother Bebop. Like Bebop, Zen of Logic is smart and, in parts, tough to pierce. It demands engagement, cerebrally.
